Resin coatings TECHNOSTYLE for walls and floors:
What is resin?
A synthetic resin is used in the construction, not the plant resin naturally produced by trees.
The synthetic resin, used for coatings, is obtained through industrial chemical processes.
Initially it was a material used for industrial flooring as well as in hospitals, shopping centers and sports facilities, to take advantage of its high mechanical resistance.
Subsequently, the use has expanded dramatically, involving the entire field of domestic interior design, from door coverings, kitchen tops to furniture and accessories of all kinds.
The main types of resin coatings are 3:
1. Epoxy resin, characterized by high mechanical and thermal resistance, which is used to cover floors, but also for walls and above all to create furniture shapes. It is also commercially available in a self-leveling form, which allows you to cover a surface evenly.
2. Commercially available acrylic resin in liquid form and which can be applied much faster than other types. It has high resistance to heat and other climatic phenomena, which make it the ideal coating for external surfaces. It can be combined with coatings on metal, paper, leather and fabrics, or even with wall surfaces such as ceilings, terraces and concrete structures. For example, acrylic resin is used to replace the tiles placed behind the countertop, but also to cover furniture and appliances.
3. The cement resin is obtained by mixing cements and resin-based additives and this particular composition makes the material an excellent floor covering because it is resistant to shocks, oil and humidity. The cementitious resin, applied with a trowel, allows to obtain a wavy and unique surface
